In fact, studies show that dogs are much like toddlers, and when left in open play groups all day, they can become overstimulated. As a result, this overstimulation often leads to aggression and exhaustion. To address this, our program follows a structured schedule. Each play group enjoys an active session in the morning and another in the afternoon. Meanwhile, dogs rest in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms. This way, the routine supports their natural circadian rhythms, as dogs are meant to take multiple restful naps throughout the day.

Ultimately, our goal is not to exhaust your dog but to send them home calm, content, and relaxed so you can still enjoy their company after a busy workday.

Before anything else, every guest completes a temperament test to confirm they are “DOG FRIENDLY.” Afterward, we divide them into four different groups based on size, age, play style, and temperament. In this manner, each pup is placed where they can have fun and, more importantly, stay safe.

At the same time, Underdog Kennels always has multiple Dog Daycare attendants supervising every group. The health and safety of our guests remain our top priority.

However, if we determine your dog is not “dog-friendly” or not a good fit for open playgroups, they join our VIP Group instead. Here, they enjoy walks with our staff along with extra ear scratches, cuddles, and tummy rubs. Please note that this special handling has an additional charge of $3 per day.

In addition, we also offer Private Playtime, giving your pup one-on-one attention. Activities can include fetch, tug, a relaxing massage, tummy rubs, or even story time. Sessions are available in 15-minute increments.
